Hope to build business relationship with you. A spring washer is a washer split at a single point and shaped into a helical form. This configuration gives the washer its characteristic spring-like quality, which exerts pressure between the fastener's head and the surface it's secured to. This ensures that the washer remains firmly in place against the surface, while also pressing the bolt thread securely against the nut or the threaded surface it's connected to. As a result, this creates additional friction and resistance to rotational forces. Spring washers conform to various standards such as ASME B18.21.1, DIN 127B, and the United States Military Standard NASM 35338 (formerly known as MS 35338 and AN-935).
These spring washers have a left-hand helix, which means they allow the thread to be tightened only in a right-hand direction, or clockwise. When a left-hand turning force is applied, the raised edge of the washer grips the underside of the bolt or nut, as well as the component it's fastened to, effectively preventing rotation. Consequently, spring washers are not suitable for use with left-hand threads or on hardened surfaces. Additionally, it's important not to use a flat washer underneath the spring washer, as this would isolate the spring washer from the component that resists rotation. In cases where a flat washer is needed to bridge a large hole in a component, a nyloc nut (with a nylon insert) should be used.

The use and effectiveness of spring lock washers has been in debate of late, with some publicationsadvising against their use on the grounds that, when tight, the washer is flat against the substrate and gives no more resistance to rotation than a normal washer at the same torque. NASA researchers have gone as far as to say "In summary, a lockwasher of this type is useless for locking."However, a spring washer will continue to hold the bolt against the substrate and maintain friction when loosened slightly, whereas a plain washer will not.
The benefit of spring lock washers lies in the trapezoidal shape of the washer. When compressed to loads near the proof strength of the bolt, it will twist and flatten. This reduces the spring rate of the bolted joint which allows it to maintain more force under the same vibration levels. This prevents loosening.

Washers are usually metal and plastic and rubber. High-quality bolted joint require hardened steel washers to prevent the loss of pre-load due to Brinelling after the torque is applied.
