High-strength bolt generally refers to bolt with higher strength grades. It's own screw materials, bolt materials, and bolt materials are all good, and the hardness is also relatively high. After production and manufacturing, the bolt will also be hardened to make the bolts meet the strength requirements of the high-strength bolt grade.
First of all, the node stiffness of high-strength bolt connections is large, and high-strength bolt can be used as compression or friction bolt. High-strength bolt connections require pre-tightening force for plates. The plates to be connected are tightly connected together by applying huge tension through bolts. Under such strong tension, the friction between the plates will increase, and the stiffness of the connection nodes will also increase, achieving the effect of rigid connection. The force transmission of the plate is transmitted through friction, not through the contact between the bolt rod and the plate. The sign of damage to the friction-type connection of high-strength bolts is the relative slippage of the plates. Therefore, in the beam-column rigid connection node, high-strength bolt friction type connection is the first choice. In the bolt-welded hybrid connection, the beam web can achieve the same strength and stiffness as welding through the high-strength bolt friction type connection.
